While visiting Cyprus car hire is recommended
as there is plenty to see and do, from the vibrant city of
Agia
Napa to the historic place of Famagusta.
There are many car rental companies in Cyrus with competitive
rates. Most companies will offer a range of vehicles to rent
at varying rates. You will need a driving license or International
Driving Permit and will have to be over 21 years old (some
car hire companies will loan you a vehicle at 18, although
this is the exception rather than the rule).
You can make considerable savings by booking in advance and
the Internet provides the best starting point. For example,
if traveling to Paphos
you would pay less if you booked it in advance, rather than
arranging it when you arrive.
Car Hire is available in all the main cities and also from
Larnaca
airport.

It is available in North
Nicosia and South
Nicosia. You can hire a car from the south of Cyprus,
such as Limassol and larnaca and drive across the border.
But you have to buy car insurance for the North of Cyprus
when you cross the border.
If you have hired your car in the Turkish side, such as
Kyrenia,
you cannot drive across the border. However, you can drive
up to a check point and walk across.
