Jambulat Bastion and Museum Agios Ioannos Church and Icon
Museum- the tomb and a small museum of Djambulat
In Djambulat Municipal Museum visitors can see some relics
of the battle, as well as old costumes worn, tools used, and
books, including an invaluable hand-written Koran.
Namik Kemal Dungeon and Museum
This two-storied hewn stone dungeon was built, during the
Ottoman era, on the ruins of the old Royal Palace.
St Barnabas Monastery and Icon Museum
the monastery present day building dates from 1756 and the
white domes are a local land mark. The well laid out archaeological
museum in the cloisters has many artifacts from Neolithic
to Roman times. There are some superb Bronze Age specimens,
and the items within the museum cover the 9,000 years of Cyprus'
history.
Yeni Iskele Icon Museum
The church housing the museum was built in the early 12th
century. It originally had a single isle and a dome, with
arched recesses on the side ward. Such churches represent
the popular church architecture of 12th century in Cyprus. |
