Just a quick review: Emessa is a solid contender in the Syrian restaurant scene in Nicosia. The food is good, plentiful and tasty. Details are well covered in the prior review.

I was thrilled to find out that Emessa reopened again in Makedonitissa as it's very close to my work. It was one of my favorites and after last night it still remains so.
The menu is nothing new and it has pretty much what you would expect from a Syrian restaurant. Same dips, salads and mains, in fact I think it has the same menu as either Sawa or the Syrian Friendship Club, I don't remember which. I also noticed some familiar faces in the staff, which probably means that there is some association with one of the aforementioned restaurants.
Still, the layout (and consequently the atmosphere) is quite different than the other two restaurants, with the outside seating area more or less connected with the inside of the restaurant, at least now in the summer.
We were lucky enough to be there during an opening promotion where they were offering 50% off the total bill. The bill came out to €13 for 2 people which is insane. Even the regular price (€26) is very low, considering we had 2 dips, a salad, a main meat course (half of which was left because it was so much), a small bottle of wine, a large bottle of water and a mahalepi (!)
The quality of the food was very good, making this the best value for money dining I had in a very long time. The staff was very friendly and the service was fast (lots of waiters). The music was pretty good (Arabic).
Pros:Good quality, great service and very low prices
Cons:Not much of a differentiation from the existing Syrian restaurants in Nicosia
