Description
Emessa is a traditional Syrian restaurant in Makedonitissa, located on Elia Papakyriakou Street near the intersection with 28th October Avenue.
Emessa was operating at the exact same location for several years in the past, but took around a year's "break" in 2009 when it closed and was replaced by "Alera", a Bulgarian restaurant. That didn't last and in the middle of 2010, Emessa reopened, with the official launch on June 10th, following a promotional 50% off week.

... Read MoreI was thrilled to find out that Emessa reopened again in Makedonitissa as it's very close to my work. It was one of my favorites and after last night it still remains so.The menu is nothing new and it has pretty much what you would expect from a Syrian restaurant. Same dips, salads and mains, in fact I think it has the same menu as either Sawa or the Syrian Friendship Club, I don't remember which. I also noticed some familiar faces in the staff, which probably means that there is some association with one of the aforementioned restaurants.Still, the layout (and consequently the atmosphere) -
