To describe it as crowded is an understatement. Big crowds in Cyprus is not the place to be.. It’s supposed to be a kids’ place but if you have a stroller you need a second adult to help you down the stairs and in to the fair. Although they have more rides every year, in this case bigger is not better. I liked it much more a few years ago when it was smaller and didn’t feel as suffocating and overwhelming to just walk through it! Perhaps two weeks before or two weeks after the holidays is more manageable, but then again it’s supposed to be a Christmas event!..
Nicosia Municipality managed to get this Christmas fair to a very popular status and there is no family with kids at least in Nicosia who does not visit this fair. Large variety of rides and games for all ages and really gets adults in a childish mood. But, this fair is really over-croweded and not policed at all! It makes you sometimes feel uncomfortable and really not secure... Also rides and equipmet seems quite old and I personally question its safety and whether it passed quality control checks before opening to people. Finally, why most of the staff is not Cypriot origin? I think the Mu
We had a great day at this small yet entertaining Fun Fair! Gets you excited just like being a five year'old again! We had a good laugh driving around the go-carts, trying out our shooting skills with the rifels and lots more.
One thing that stood out the most was the breath taking view from the Ferris Wheel of the entire Nicosia. Everyone should definately try to get on that when there's a clear day to admire the views!!! Recommended for ALL ages!!!
Nice temporary amusement park in the Nicosia moat that appears in the holidays. The majority of rides are most appropriate for children but the Ferris wheel has a great view of Nicosia and the 'Wild Mouse' roller coaster will at least amuse an adult.I must confess I did not try the 'Boost' ride that seems to swirl you around upside down.
We didn't take our chances with the cameras on this one, so all you'll see here is the ride from a distance. If you listen carefully, you can hear the screams of the people riding it. Definitely an intense ride!
More of Nicosia from above. Here you can clearly see the Constanza Bastion and Bayraktar Mosque and in the distance, the large parking lot at D'Avila Bastion. The Medieval Walled City is definitely my favorite part of Nicosia.
The ferris wheel dominates the Nicosia skyline these days and we got a chance to ride it. This is a video of it from a distance but do check out the other video we took while on it. you can see all of Nicosia from up there!
And here is the bumper car duel from my good friend Leandros' perspective. Ok, he gets extra points for knocking my camera off my hands, but I did have the final word on a head-on collision at the end that shook him more than me!
And up we go! We took a ride on the large ferris wheel at the fair and it was totally worth it as the views of Nicosia from up there are breathtaking! Enjoy the exclamations of our animated co-passengers :)
OK, so we tried the bumper cars. We felt like reminiscing. Julie sat this one out but LEandros and I had a first-class bumper car duel that alsomst destroyed my camera. Check out the videos, both from my point of view as well as his LOL!
