On Sunday Feb 20th 2011, Cyprus.com participated in the Limassol Marathon 5K Corporate Race with a team of 34 runners.One of our runners, Matt Johnson actually finished the race first and the overall team earned third place!

Americans Peter Diamond and Dale Mortensen, and British-Cypriot Christopher Pissarides, have won the 2010 Nobel economics prize.They were honoured for work on how unemployment, job vacancies and wages are affected by regulation and policy.The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences praised their work on why unemployment stays high in times of many vacancies.The 10m Swedish kronor ($1.5m) economics prize was set up by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 1968.

October 1st, 2010, marks the 50th anniversary of the declaration of the Republic of Cyprus.To celebrate this important event, the Cyprus Government will be hosting a a series of events on October 1st, starting with the military parade in the morning and climaxing with the flagship event at the Tassos Papadopoulos - Eleftheria Stadium at 9:00 in the evening.
