Pieros is one of my favorite traditional taverns in Ayia Napa or Protaras. It is located on the main road leading into Protaras, nestled below the road, easy to miss, under trelisses of grapes.
The house specialities are fresh fish of all types, grilled or fried, and kleftiko from the traditional village oven.
In the summer, I generally have the fish, varying based on what is available that day. In the spring, I once also had an amazing fresh greens salad.
The pricing is on the high-end for such a casual looking establishment but that has happened almost across the board to fish restaurants in Ayia Napa/Protaras.
Service is friendly but, when the restaurant is busy, flustered and disorganized. You should expect that on a busy Saturday night that you are looking at least 45 minutes from the time you sit down until when the food arrives.
Overall, highly recommended
Pros:Excellent food; rustic setting
Cons:Slow service - don't go if you are in a rush to eat
