Tota Patsalidou was born in Nicosia and from an early stage in her life exhibited great love and aspiration for the world of fashion. She has been involved in costume and scenery design in theatrical plays that were held by The Falcon School where she completed secondary education.
After completing an Art and Design foundation course in Cyprus she studied fashion design at the Salford University in Manchester for three years. During these three years of her study abroad she gained valuable experience and knowledge of different aspects of fashion, some of them being fashion design, merchandising, fashion business, making of clothes, international markets, fashion culture, styling, photography, advertising, visual culture, public relations.
After returning to Cyprus she attended a two-year course learning in depth the technical side of fashion design, pattern making and construction of garments.
Since her return to Cyprus she has partaken in several fashion design exhibitions one of them being THE FASHION ACADEMY AWARD. In 2003 she designed dresses for Miss Tourism Beauty Pageant and participated as a stylist in several events.
For the past four years Tota has been following Byzantine Iconography lessons fulfilling another one of her dreams.
In 2006 she lodged atelier TOTSi, in the old town of Nicosia, where she displays her ready to wear collections occasional wear and bridal wear. Tota specializes in designing garments made to meassure, fullfilling the needs of the customer, suiting the body shape, colours and occation that the garment is intended for.
Her collections are often characterised as romantic, oscillating between playful but also minimal tones of elegance and style. Tota took place at Cyprus Fashion Week for the first time presenting the Spring Summer collection “Through the looking glass” based on the adventures of Alice in wonderland. In September 2010 Tota presented the Autumn Winter 2010 – 2011 collection, based on Alfred Hitchcock blondes.
