  An ideal place to go with a group of friends - definitely a 'the more the merrier' kind of place. There is a line-up of around 5 or 6 musicians playing rembetika and folk music which is sure to get you out of your seat. The food is palatable but nothing special. Definitely worth visiting once - you will either love it or hate it.

  I did not know what to expect when I visited Kythraia Salamis as my feelings are always mixed when visiting a place in northern Cyprus. What I did not expect, however, was to be able to walk, climb and stand all over the ruins. The site is totally unguarded, unprotected and neglected and once you pay your entrance fee you are literally on your own to do as you please. There were weeds and grass absolutely everywhere making it difficult at times to approach and even see some of the ruins.The amphitheatre was definitely the highlight for me.It is difficult to rate as the ruins themselves

  We stayed at Europa for a couple of nights in May 2010 during our holiday to Cyprus. The staff were very friendly and the room was immaculate. The breakfast was slightly bland but overall it was a good experience.

  Koumbaris is definitely a great place to go for fish meze. I cannot say how many times I have eaten there but the fish is always fresh (unless otherwise stated) and extremely tasty. The portions are very generous and just when you think you cannot eat any more, another dish comes along. Located on the sea front there is also a convenient grassy play area for children well within sight so makes for a perfect family day out.

  This is definitely a business first and then whatever else it claims to be...I have visited several times, solely to take friends or family visiting from abroad and have been disappointed on every occasion. Time appears to have been taken to ensure there is somewhere for 'donations' in every part of the "monastery" and the prices in the souvenir shop are absolutely horrendous.

  During my last visit to Cyprus in May 2010, Saki and I were strolling through the streets of Plakota in Larnaca one evening when we came across Art Cafe 1900. Though 'Cafe' makes an appearance in the name, this is a restaurant (upstairs) and beautiful bar / pub downstairs with the most amazing shrine located in a room at the back of the ground floor...a shrine to Jack Daniel's! Accompanied by classic rock and jazz music and a great host / barman (owner Marios), this makes for a perfect night out and a must to visit when in Larnaca.

  An extremely laid back outdoor and indoor restaurant / bar / pub / coffee shop - one of the great things about Erodos is that it can be whatever you need it or want it to be. The dishes I have tasted (and I have tasted a few) have been more than palatable and the service has always been good. Erodos is located opposite the Omeriye Mosque in Nicosia (which dates back to the 14th century) and the Omeriye Hamam, so if you decide to venture into 'Palia Lefkosia' (old Nicosia), then Erodos is definitely a place worth stopping at for refreshments.
