The church also known as St. Nicholas of the Roof is the remaining building of a monastery built near the village of Kakopetria, in the mountains of Troodos.
The church forms parted of 10 painted Byzantine churches in the Troodos region that have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The frescoes within the church have been said to span over 600 years.
