The Centre of Cultural Heritage, established by Dr. Sophocles Sophocleous in 1991, is an NGO (non-governmental Organisation) for the public benefit.

According to its constitution, the Centre offers services in the following main fields: conservation, preservation and promotion of Cyprus' cultural heritage and its artistic wealth spanning from the 9th millenium B.C. to the 20th century A.D., records, research, study, architectural conservation, landscaping, the creation of Museums, the conservation of works of art, especially icons and iconostases, consultative studies for the protection and exploitation of the heritage of whole communities or areas, the enhancement and promotion of the cultural heritage of Cyprus through publications, exhibitions, seminars, lectures, educational programmes, especially for children, and consultations for cultural tourism.

Since 1991, many communities and Municipalities, as well as the Church and the Government of Cyprus, private organisations and individuals, have profited from consultation with the Centre and from its services.
