Classical Guitar Lessons in Nicosia – Lina Christodoulidou

Lina Christodoulidou was born in Nicosia. She began guitar lessons at the age of 6 and music theory lessons at the age of 10. Under the guidance of Antonis Koizas, she acquired the Performers Diploma in guitar from the Trinity School of Music and the Performers Diploma from the Modern Conservatory of Cyprus in cooperation with the Music College of Thessaloniki. She has also gained the diploma of harmony and music history with Mikis Costeas. She continued her musical studies in Lyon, France, where she obtained from the University of Lyon2, the Licence (Bachelors) degree in Music and Musicology and the Maîtrise (Masters) postgraduate, specializing in traditional music of Crete. She continued her studies at the University of Lyon2 where her studies led her to achieve the diploma of Specialization in traditional music of Cyprus. Parallel and simultaneously, she also acquired from the National Conservatory of Lyon, under the distinguished guitarist Castro Jésus-Balbi, the Guitar diploma as well as the Chamber Music diploma and the Music Culture diploma.

She gave concerts in France and in Cyprus as a guitar performer. Since September 2004, she is in Cyprus where she teaches classical guitar and theoretical courses in her own place and she also continues research on the traditional music of Cyprus.

At the same time and until 2010, she taught guitar and theory at the Modern Conservatory of Cyprus and also conducted the orchestra of this Conservatory. From 2004 until now, she is a partner of the National Conservatory of Cyprus where she teaches guitar and music theory. She is also a member of the EGTA (European Guitar Teachers Association of Cyprus) and students take part regularly in events and competitions organized by the association.
