Among the first Italian restaurants to open in Nicosia and the one that dared to offer savory pizza and pasta at a small place on Ledra street’s sidewalk.

Because real quality can fit anyplace, that is why small Il Forno, with just a few small tables inside, has achieved such big fame that it now serves its large clientele mainly at tables placed on the pavement.

Il Forno waiters are invariably busy, while the smells coming from the open plan kitchen will make even the most difficult passersby stop.

Il Forno is known for its charming environment, superb service and exquisite cuisine!

    My review

One of the best places for Italian food in Nicosia. Good quality food, satisfactory portions at reasonable prices. The place does not have a huge menu but all pasta and pizzas are prepared fresh. Service can get slow on busy days. Most of the tables are on the street (pedestrian). Relax and enjoy your food as shoppers walk up and down the street.

    food

Yes, I love their food, but not the place itself so much. It is usually very crowded but of course it's the good food to be blamed for this. They have a lot of choice for pizza and pasta; the menu could have a few more salads though. The food is served very fast; the service is good in general, although we have had some unpleasant incidents and mistaken food during their “rush hour”, so we try to avoid weekend/lunch time.

    Food, Service, Prices, Area

This must be the best Italian restaurant I have ever been in. Friendly service, good prices and AMAZING food. I usually have the Penne Arabiatta, which is tasty and spicy. The portions are huge and I can never manage to finish what's on my plate. The hot rolls bought out before the main is a great touch. Irecommend this pace to anyone.

You MUST try the broccoli and prawn sauce they serve with any choice of pasta its yummy.Their pizzas are very tasty and the salads are great. Situated in the middle of Ledra Street. Every shopping outing should include Il Forno.

Great food, fast service, friendly staff, great location

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Old Nicosia. You basically can't go wrong with anything you order from the menu as Il Forno makes delicious pastas and pretty close to authentic Italian pizza. There is a reason this place is always full. Especially on the weekend you can forget about finding a table unless you reserve in the morning or the night before.

The first thing that makes it so pleasant to eat there is the location. It is located smack in the middle of the Ledras pedestrian shopping area and it allows you to people-watch extensively. It has mostly outdoor seating while the interior is fairly small (8-10 tables). Needless to say. the seating capacity dramatically increases when the weather is good, which is most of the time in Cyprus.

My favorite pasta from the menu is the Deliciosa (preferably with penne). It has a tomato and black olive base and is topped with fresh basil and feta cheese - I know, unusual combination but it's amazing! In terms of pizza it's the Boconcina (see the photo I uploaded), the only pizza on the menu served with fresh mozzarella.

Il Forno is one of the few places left in Nicosia with an all-Greek/Cypriot staff and this goes a long way, especially for locals. The service is impeccable, the waiters/waitresses are very friendly and with a great sense of humor and your food is served extremely fast.

The wine list leaves something to be desired as there should be a broader Italian wine selection, but it is not a fancy restaurant so this can be overlooked.

For its quality, value for money and the general experience you get from being there, Il Forno makes my top-10 list of places to eat in Nicosia.
