The Medieval Castle Museum is located inside Limassol Castle and it is worth a visit as this is the place where you can see in one go a collection of artefacts that cover four main periods of Cyprus's history: the early Christian era, the middle Byzantine era, the Middle Ages and the Ottoman period.

Here you will see everything from armour, cannons and other relics related to the Crusades, as well as, gorgeous Byzantine silverware, icons and pottery.

While you will not find any relics from the wedding of Richard the Lionheart and Berengaria of Navarre, you definitely get a good idea of the economic, social and cultural development of Cyprus and the customs and traditions of the island from the 3rd to the 18th centuries AD.
