Mylos Restaurant is a family restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Mill Hotel.

It has both indoor and outdoor seating on the large veranda, offering unobstructed panoramic views of the entire village of Kakopetria.

Mylos Restaurant specializes in fresh trout, cooled in garlic butter and herbs, but also offers a very wide variety of meals, from steak to pasta.

A reservation is highly recommended, especially on the weekends where it is wise to reserve a few days before.

    The trout.

The Mill has been known for years as the place to visit in Kakopetria if you like trout and for the last 20 years, the quality of the fish served has been excellent.

Other people I have been here with have had other dishes apart from the trout and have said that the food was very good, but I have to admit that I have never had anything, but the trout.

Do not come here without a reservation at the weekends and on public holidays as you are not going to get a seat.

Amazing trout, beautiful views, nice atmosphere

An absolute must if you are visiting the village of Kakopetria. Mylos makes the best trout I've tried so far and it's no wonder it is their signature dish and fittingly named "Mylos Special Trout." It is a medium-sized trout, cooked in a garlic butter and herbs sauce and served with the bones removed. It comes with fries or jacket potato plus salad. Honestly, I can only give a review about this since it's the only thing I've ever eaten here and probably the only thing I will ever eat when I come here again in the future. the restaurant does serve a variety of dishes, but my advice is to go for the trout as it is what this restaurant does best.

The wine selection was overall ok and the house wine one of our friends tried was pretty good, but the last page of the wine list (Vintages) threw me off completely. It was a bit strange to see a Chateau Lafitte on one page and a vintage 1957 Othello (???) on the next page. It's my constant complaint about restaurants in Cyprus and I believe that this one too should employ a proper sommelier. It just doesn't make sense having one of the finest wines in the world in the same wine list as hugely overpriced vinegar.

The restaurant's location is ideal, as it is on the 3rd floor of the Mill Hotel and the views of the village and the green surroundings are gorgeous. There is a running stream right below, which also adds to the mountainous nature feel. When making a reservation make sure you request to be seated outside (unless it's cold) and also make sure you reserve early as it's extremely popular and always packed. Sometimes you may need to reserve a couple of days before.

Overall, it is always a delight to eat at this restaurant and it can be the highlight of any short weekend trip to the countryside.
