Phinikoudes Beach, which takes its name from the many palm trees that were planted here back in 1922, is right on the coastal promenade of Larnaca.

The promenade is flanked by Larnaca's Marina on the north and Larnaca's Fort on the south.

It is one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus with about 500m of grey pale sand. The water is clean, the beach is well maintained, and there are many options for water sport enthusiasts: jet skiing, snorkeling, sailing, and paddle boating are just some of the things to do at Phinikoudes beach.

The beach also has many facilities such as umbrellas, sun beds, toilets and showers, and lifeguards on duty during the summer season.

In the evening the Phinikoudes seafront offers great entertainment, with countless pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs, which have events mostly during the summer months.
If you are visiting Larnaca with children, there is a small Fun Park, arcades and even a McDonald's. Daily boat trips that depart from Larnaca's Marina to different locations are also a fun choice.

As busy as it sounds, Phinikoudes beach is rather charming and still relatively laid back.

Highlights:

• The Phinikoudes beach has been accredited with the Blue Flag, an award that is given to beaches and marinas that have met rigorous quality standards

• The area is the venue of the Kataklysmos Festival which usually takes place during the month of June

• The sea at Phinikoudes beach is usually calm and the waves are mild

Look Out For:

• Parking is forbidden on the Phinikoudes promenade, but there is a parking near the Marina as well as on many of the side roads
