Fresh produce, excellent quality service
A business associate visiting Cyprus wanted to eat fish, so I was recommended Pyxida.
It's not cheap, but it is well worth the money.
Everything was fresh, presented lovely, professionally and the attention to detail is something you do not see in many restaurants today.
My associate was also impressed with the time that they took to help you choose the fish that you want right there in front of you.
I can now also recommend Pyxida for my friends without reservation.
Food, Service, efficiency
What can I say except...."Well Done Pyxida"......it is what is says it is.....a fish restaurant but the food is well presented, quick and has my seal of approval every-time....
I have been on several occasions and they have never let me down. Definitely, a one, NOT to be missed....if you are trying to close that 'ever-so-important' deal and you want to show that you also have taste (as well as the right product or service) then take your clients to here!
They are Professional
I went to Pyxida for first time for lunch yesterday, having in my mind that it is a nice but perhaps an expensive restaurant. I was positively surprised to see that this place it is not just nice but a really professional restaurant. The service was excellent, the food great both in quality and quantity, their drought white wine tasted really good, and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxing. All you can ask for a good lunch or dinner. As for the prices, they seemed absolutely reasonable to me.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a excellent fish restaurant in Nicosia.
My review
Pyxida is one of the best fish taverns in Cyprus. Great fish dishes nicely prepared. The restaurant is upper class giving you the sense of formality but at the same time it provides a nice atmosphear. Service is great as well. I highly recommend it. It is on the high end price-wise but it worths it
Extremely highly recommended
Currently the best fish restaurant in Nicosia (and probably in Cyprus), Pyxida is big step above the usual standard of fish meze in every aspect: food quality, service, ambiance, value for money
The fish meze, in particular, is spectacular, starting with fish soup, ending with tsipoura and including every type of aquatic creature in between.
Obviously the concept of a fish meze is not unique to Pyxida, but the depth of the menu and the quality of the execution across the whole menu is well above the market standard. (Meanwhile, the meze is very reasonably priced for the quality of food - something in the range of 20 euros for enough food to not want to eat again for a day).
The ambiance is less 'fish taverna' and more 'business lunch' and, as such, tends to attract more than its fair share of business people, both at dinner and at lunch.
Reservations are important as it has been pretty busy any time I have been there.
Net conclusion: As of right now, one of the top restaurants in Nicosia, executing a Cyprus classic very very well.
My review
I believe that this is the best fish restaurant in Cyprus and so do many of my friends. I've heard many times that is overpriced but I don't agree, the amount of food and its quality match the prices here and in many fish taverns they don't.
Pixida is very popular for a business lunch/dinner, and really no wonder, especially if you want to show your clients best of Cyprus. Food is always fresh and delicious, service perfect, really the best you get in any restaurant around the island. And there is nothing else to add.
Food, atmosphere, service.
Pyxida is simply excellent. We went there for dinner on a Saturday and were impressed with pretty much every aspect of this fish tavern.
The food was top quality and we were surprised at how much attention is paid to the little details. We were in the mood for prawns but ordered a small salad to start with that came with grilled black olives, toasted bread and hummus on the side. Everything was delicious but then came the main course. The tiger prawns were divine, probably the best I've ever tried, perfectly spiced and also came with oven cooked potato wedges that were also great and nicely spiced.
We finished with fresh "fangri" that was cleaned of all the bones and served with grilled vegetables in new plates. The service was impeccable and very friendly.
The price at the end of the day was a bit steep but we did order enough food for four people, so with that in mind it was perfectly reasonable and a good value for money.
Very highly recommended.
