The traditional features of this masterfully restored, stone-built mansion blend harmoniously with the green architectural design of environmental Architect Mrs. Antonia Theodosiou.

The resort, facing the 19th century church, is situated in Kalavassos village square. The beautiful 19th century mansion consists of 11 uniquely styled suites named after poets, thinkers and writers from all over the world.

The suites open to the courtyard with beautiful and pictures views of the village and surrounding mountains. The main attraction of this mansion is an impressive library lounge with an open fireplace and a collection of interesting books on various subjects with an emphasis on history, philosophy, culture and civilization.

The Library Lounge

With its open fire place and comfortable italian designer furniture, it features a collection of literature, philosophy, health and nature books, available to guests, along with an anthology of masterpiece films and music, wi-fi and a selection of magazines.

Wonderful atmosphere, great architecture, incredible service, true boutique hotel with a concept

This is the first time I write a review about a hotel that I haven't actually stayed at, but to be fair, I did have coffee here and also relaxed in the library area for a bit after getting a grand tour of the retreat and facilities by the owner Mr. Savvas Varnavides.

I was genuinely charmed by the whole concept of the Library Hotel and it clearly shows that a lot of love has been put into this place. Mr. Varnavides' passion truly showed in the way he was talking about the hotel, the thought he had put into it and what his vision is. It represents his tastes that are sophisticated and as he called it, the "belle epoque". It is a place for lovers of literature and the finer things in life, the bons viveurs of this world.

The main attraction of the hotel is the library from which it takes its name, filled with books on various subjects, including some rare publications. The rooms are also dedicated to famous writers and poets like Seferis, Kavafis, Rimbaud, Nietzsche, Wilde, there is even a room dedicated to the first modern poet, Sapho. There is information as well as literary works of each writer or poet in their respective rooms.

The rooms themselves are very elegantly designed and match the look and feel of the entire hotel which is traditional. Every aspect of this place screams class and high quality, from the high ceilings, to the antique-looking furniture, to the marble bathrooms, to the mosaic floors.

The Potemonde baths are the spa facilities of the hotel and I will write a review about them once I try them, which should be pretty soon :)

Finally, the service and the way you are made to feel special from the moment you enter the hotel, whether you are staying or dropping by, makes a huge impact.

In my opinion, it is the first real boutique hotel I have seen in Cyprus, with a concept that is taken all the way, both in thought as well as execution.
