The big screen and the sound
I have been going to Zena Palace since I came to Cyprus over 20 years ago, and I still go there today.
The main reason is because of the sound. The cinema was an old theatre hall and the acoustics are better than the newer cinemas.
Because of the size of the theatre, you never feel that you are squashed in - there are a lot of seats and you rarely have to site right next to anyone.
Beautiful and large theatre
One of the oldest movie theaters in Nicosia and definitely one of my favorites, for different reasons.
First, I have associated with almost all of the movie experiences of my teens so there's the emotional connection. Then, it's the tradition that it carries with it. Last, but not least, it's huge and a true gem in cinema architecture, with floor as well as balcony seating.
One big advantage is that you will always find a seat here. An annoying feature that they've kept is the 15-minute intermission. C'mon people, so 80s...
Also, it's probably the best 3D theatre in Nicosia. Even though I hate 3D movies, I saw Avatar here and it was actually pretty impressive and not as dark or tiring to the eyes as other times I've watched at other theatres.
Simply a great cinema experience.
